30 Days of lists updates and more. . .

I know, it has been two weeks since I blogged.  It has been so crazy around here!  Today, I'm taking a little time to blog.  There will probably be more pictures than words!  Oh well.

First of all, I've been busy doing my daily lists for 30 days of lists!  It has been fun, but I'm always behind!  Here are all my new lists:

List 2: Goals for September
List 3: How my friends and family describe me

 List 4: When I need a break, I. . .

 List 5: Reasons to start. . . .

 List 6: Reasons to quit. . . .

List 7: Favorite Snacks

List 8: Outside my front door. . .(I did outside my back door)

List 9: Today, you can find me. . .

List 10: I'm at my best when. . . .

List 11: My favorite smells...

List 12: Fictional Places I'd like to live. . .

This is as far as I've gotten.  I hope to get some done today!

Of course, I'm still a Studio Calico addict.  Recently, my new add-on for the Central High kit arrived.  I haven't been able to subscribe to the kit for financial reasons, but I buy an add-on each month if I can.  This month, I purchased the Road Show add-on.  It arrived on Monday, and I was so excited to tear open the box.  With my Chai Tea Latte from Sublime, I was ready to go!!!

Here is what I received!  I'm so excited!  I haven't done anything with it yet, but I will!!!  Just need to print some photos!!!

Also, in my quest to be a trendy yet frugal scrapper, I'm always on the look out for great items at cheap prices.  I love washi tape, and when I saw on Instagram that people had found washi tape at Target, I had to go.  Sure enough, I discovered Target's washi tape along with a great little wash tin in the dollar section.  Aren't they great?  The mini binder clips are from Wal-Mart!  Great stuff, and I got all of it for under $15!!!

Oh, and I'm horribly addicted to Instragram (if you can't tell by my photos!!!!!)

I am still cooking and trying new things!  The other day, I forgot to get a roast out of the freezer, so I had to improvise dinner.  I knew I had some chicken breasts and some left over Swiss cheese.  Through the day, I thought about what I should do with those ingredients.  I knew I wanted to add mushrooms because there is almost nothing better than mushrooms in dinner.  This is what I created:

Seasoned Chicken breasts stuffed with Swiss Cheese, Roma Tomatoes, and Sauteed Mushrooms

Ingredients:
2 large chicken breasts
2 Roma Tomatoes, sliced
8 oz sliced mushrooms
Swiss cheese, sliced (I used about 8 oz, but the amount is up to you)
Spices (Oregano, Basil, Thyme, and black pepper)
lots of toothpicks
cooking oil
minced garlic
lots of tooth picks

Heat oven to 375F

1. Add a little cooking oil to a pan and sauteed the garlic and mushrooms until mushrooms are tender.  Remove mushrooms from pan leaving garlic and juice.

2. Add chicken breasts to the pan with the garlic.  Brown both sides of the chicken breasts.  Even brown the sides if breasts are thick.

3. Remove chicken from pan.  Butterfly breasts.  The inside should still be a little raw.  Layer cheese, tomato slices, and sauteed mushrooms.  Close the breasts and secure with toothpicks.  Sprinkle desired spices on breasts.  Spray breasts with cooking oil and place in a shallow baking dish.

4. Put chicken in preheated oven and cook for 30-35 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted.

It was delicious!  If you try this recipe, leave me a comment and let me know how yours turned out!

That's it for now!  Hopefully, I'll be back sooner!  Come visit me at Sublime Chocolate in Allen if you can.  See you soon!

New things this week!

Hi!  I'm back to bring you up-to-date on my adventures! :)  I've been busy this week.  I've made all kinds of new things from food to another mini-album!  I LOVE being creative!!!

First of all, I joined 30 days of Lists!  It is too late to join now, but in case you are curious, visit their website: http://30daysoflists.com/  Daily, they post prompts, and the partipants make lists from that prompt!  I am an avid list maker.  It is the only way I can get things done!  I had to join this.  For this project, I created a small mini-album to house the lists I make.

I used up some of my old/hoarded supplies.  I wanted to use some of my favorite patterned papers, so I could enjoy them instead of keeping them hidden in my closet!  For the cover, I used supplies mostly from Studio Calico's Summer of '69 kit add-on called Six String.  I had a blast making the cover!  Plus, I discovered that Scrapbooking Flair is AWESOME!  I'm so in love.  I've even found some on Etsy, that I really want to purchase!  (Check out AFlairforButtons on Etsy!)

At home, it is just my husband and myself along with three crazy dogs.  I usually make dinner because I'm home earlier.  Well, I get tired of the 'same old thing', so I get new recipes off Pinterest.  You can follow me here if you need some ideas!   I have so many recipes to try, so I experiement with a few a week when we can afford it!  This week I tried two receipes: Swiss Mushroom Bacon Meatloaf and Pepperjack and Spinach stuffed Cajun Chicken Breasts

The Swiss Mushroom Bacon Meatloaf was AMAZING!
I am NOT a big meatloaf fan, but mu husband is!  I usually just make it for him with the McCormick's seasoning packet.  However, when I saw this recipe, I knew we had to try it.  How can you go wrong with Swiss cheese, bacon, and mushrooms??? It was the BEST. MEATLOAF. EVER!!!!!  I'm not lying!  Try it and see.  I don't think I will ever make any other meatloaf EVER again!

The Pepperjack and Spinach stuffed Cajun Chicken breasts were quite good, too!  They were a pill to put together, but otherwise, very tasty!!
Try them and see!  They were worth it!  We had them with rice pilaf and carrots.

One more thing: Today, being September 1 (can you believe it??), kicked off the 30 Days of Lists.  The prompted was "I am a lister because. . ."  I shortened it to "I am a lister. . ."  Here is my page (through an Instagram filter!):
